type='text'>

Sunday, 15 May 2011

Jared is asleep and I'm bored. I just wasted 10 minutes trying to change the email address linked to this blog account and it would not work. So if anyone knows how to do it, let me know. I'm taking classes this summer. Anatomy, Physiology Lab, and Microbiology. So far I have not done anything for microbiology or physiology, because by the time I'm done studying for anatomy I decide that I'm done studying altogether. I got a little burned out this last week and ended up watching movies and playing basketball rather than studying, which I am already starting to regret, as I have multiple midterms and projects in the next few days.

Every now and then I cruise through the blogs of family and friends. It's addicting. I usually start with Lana's blog, because I can actually remember the URL without looking it up. From there, I use the links posted on her blog to access other blogs. Sometimes, I go into what I like to call a "blog trance," where I go from blog to blog without really paying attention to which link I'm clicking on. Blog trances are often induced by a lack of motivation to study. Today, after looking at Lana's, Scott's, and trying to look at Leslie's (Leslie, fix your blog, it crashed), I blindly clicked on another link and lo and behold ended up at my own blog. I realized that I had not written on it for over two years, and that the most "recent" post had numerous comments about my blog-posting-inconsistancy, the last of which was one by my own dear brother scott, and i quote: This is pathetic.

So....I'm considering writing on this blog again, but I don't like the idea mostly because I'm married now and everyone starts a blog when they get married so I'm certainly not going to do that. I tried to blackmail Jared into starting a blog just as a joke but it did not go over too well with him. Anyway, be prepared for further posts...

Suprise! So to all you who CLAIM to check it every day, anticipating a wonderful new post, you better leave lots of flattering comments. Today I started a fire in our kitchen. No, the apartment did not burn down. Yes, the flames were large enough to roast marshmallows over. Apparently someone spilled something underneath a burner and it got hot enough to burst into flames. I was frying some potatoes when I smelled smoke so i lifted up the pan and good foot-tall flames were spewing from the burner. It was like a campire on our stovetop. I must have made some shrieking noise (I'm actually not sure it all happened so quickly) because my roomate Camille looked over, saw the fire, and just said oooOOOOOOHHHHHH SHOULD WE USE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER?! while standing frozen in place. I started mumbling something like "noo, no, put it out-water-bowl-" while fumbling around in the pantry looking for any kind of large dish. I finally doused it with a bowl of water and then Camille and I stood there laughing for a few minutes.

I am so excited for Christmas!!! In soccer today I blocked a really hard pass and now I have the imprint of a soccer ball on my thigh. It's almost as cool as a tattoo, hopefully it will stay there for a few days at least. Now that I have been reading from my German Book of Mormon for so long I can understand almost all of it, and then when I read the scriptures in English, the German translation automatically goes through my head. Plus when I read the scriptures in German things stand out that I would overlook in English. I notice no one has added any comments to my blog for a while now and I'm slightly offended.

Here is a very ironic story that epitomizes the bad luck I have with breaking and destroying stuff on accident. A few days ago it finally snowed in Provo, and I happened to hear a snowball fight going on outside from my room on the third floor. So naturally, I went out onto the balcony (note the balcony will come back to haunt me) and nailed all of them with snowballs multiple times before they finally realized where it was coming from. Seconds later one of them charged up the stairs and starting throwing snowballs at me in my apartment (which by the way completely soaked the carpet). This definantly violated the laws of snow fights, so yesterday I tried to leave a disembodied snowman head in their apartment, but got caught in the act. Since no one wanted the head, I told them to just go throw it off the balcony. Here's where the irony starts. We threw it off the edge, and to our horror it somehow landed directly on top of a huge snowman, completely annihilating its head and torso. Just as I was explaining that the mentally handicapped guy in our ward had spent hours building that snowman, the guy came running out of his apartment and literally fell to his knees in front of his demolished snowman. Apparently his friends had just been assuring him that his snowman would be intact in the morning (he wanted to show it to our bishop) when they all looked out the window and saw it explode. Needless to say we felt horrible. The story actually gets worse; after we helped him rebuild it someone came by and completely destroyed it again. I guess snowmen aren't safe even at BYU.

I think I have narcolepsy.
